why can't real life be more like preschool?

Me: Oh, man, tomorrow I have to go back to work.

Thomas: Mommy, do you have to work the WHOLE TIME while you're at work? Do you get breaks?

Me: Oh, yes, we get breaks. (If you only knew how many breaks I take to talk or read blogs...)

Thomas: Do you have snack?

Me: Well, yes, we do have snack breaks. (If you only knew...)

Thomas: Whose turn is it to bring snack next? Yours or Karen's?

I've often wondered that myself. Why do we teach kids how to sit in circle time and then work in cubicles by ourselves?....

Yep. I'm thinking naptime, too.

I'd like to put in for 20 minutes of circle time where we do the hokey pokey. I think it'd be great for team building (and gets us out of those tiny cubes!)

Fortunately, preschool is not like law school ... I recall a little girl who was very stressed about going to preschool. Then we figured out she thought it was going to be like her dad's law school and she would have to carry big books around, study constantly, and have no time for play. We assured you that preschool would be very different, and then you were much happier!
