not again

I really keep hoping to post a coherent, positive blog entry.

Unfortunately, today is not the day.

Henry woke up feeling sick today. Runny nose, red eyes, but no fever. I gave him some allergy medicine. But he started acting sicker and sicker. We ran some errands (which included renting 2 movies of his choice because he had such a super week at school) and when we got home he voluntarily went upstairs and climbed in bed. Now I think he has a fever but I haven't taken his temperature because he is asleep- that sickly kind of sleep where your eyes aren't quite closed all the way.

The thing is, it was exactly- I mean exactly- one year ago that he came down with whatever it was that eventually landed us in the emergency room with pneumonia. You might remember the worst day of my life.

I know lots of people have been through much worse, and I know that even if it were to happen again I would know more this time, and I know that nothing is to guarantee the same thing is going to happen again.

But the combination of PMS and full-caffeine latte for breakfast have created an emotional cocktail of panic attack proportions. I am freaking out.

On another topic, the hair is ok. Not as short as I was planning... I actually attempted (looking like an idiot) to take a bunch of pictures of myself in the van on the way to work yesterday! Then I somehow deleted them while downloading... Maybe it's a full moon this week.

Poor Henry! I bet his allergies bring on the sickness. I have a cold, but I think it is a combination of allergies too.

I hope he gets plenty of rest and is feeling better real soon!!!

Sick children. There seems to be quite a few on the blogosphere and elsewhere, which gave me cause to mention that for mine at least, the endless round of sicknesses seemed to lessen as they have become older. Hope you experience the same.
Best wishes

Gosh Gretchen, I hope that Henry is all better soon and that you are feeling much better as well. It's no fun when he is sick and you are in panic mode. I feel for you and wish for you guys to be okay right away. Hugs to you all

Gabe's allergies are terrible right now. Everyday I drug him, but it doesn't seem to help his severe symptoms. We nebulize him, give zyrtec, eye drops for itchy eyes, Benadryl, topical Benadryl for his itchy legs....He is a walking pharma sign for allergies. He could be the face for Benadryl.

I hope and pray, and pray, and pray some more that the same thing does not happen to Henry as last year. Allergies have been especially wicked this year. Could you take him to the hospital now, considering what happened last year this time?

Praying for Henry getting better,
Kristin
